Embodied, a holistic approach to providing support.
About your practitioner
Greetings!
My name is Makai, I am a philosopher, artist and healing practitioner. I believe that to be embodied is to exist in awareness and acceptance of oneself. I am on my own journey of self-acceptance and self-actualization and believe that it is a continual process. I hold the gift of capacity to navigate the depths of the human experience with curiosity and humility. I extend this capacity to the collective, through the various work I create and offer. I have spent the last decade providing peer support, group facilitation, coordinating projects, creating community spaces and providing therapeutic support to a diverse range of people.
I have been a coach and guide for many, in both community and institutional settings. I am certified in peer support through Peer Support Canada and a therapist completing practicum at TIRP. I approach all of my work from an authentic, compassionate and intentional place, reflective of my own lived experiences and informed contextual lens on the world. I have experience living with and holding space for mental health challenges, substance use, isolation, suicidal ideation, intergenerational trauma and identity. I would be honoured to both support and witness the journey of anyone wishing to access the services I provide.
Meeting you where you’re at…
I work with many people across a range of lived experiences. I align most with those who are intentional and curious about self transformation and healing. I also collaborate with organizations and groups/collectives to support capacity building and education centring holistic inclusion and collective healing.
Making connection accessible…
Flexible and convenient access to necessary services is vital. All sessions are offered virtually through common platforms, with select services in-person/outdoors or in community spaces.
